Dr. Timothy Holley is a Durham, NC-based cellist, chamber music coach and “voracious chronicler” of the concert music history of African Americans. He is associate professor of music at North Carolina Central University. He is a newcomer to the MCANA community, cajoled by John Lambert (for years!!) to inflict his writing about music upon more than those brave souls who attend his faculty recitals. His research interests focus on the cello and chamber music of African American composers, and he has given numerous premiere performances of cello works of T. J. Anderson, Adolphus Hailstork, Bill Banfield, and Trevor Weston.
