Jennifer Melick’s reviews, essays, and musician profiles appear frequently in Opera News and Symphony magazines, where she served as managing editor for many years. She has also written for Playbill and Opera America and blogged at https://www.thirteen.org/sundayarts/. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in Russian Studies from Smith College and a master of music degree in oboe performance from New England Conservatory. An amateur singer, pianist, and recovering oboist, she is committed to using her voice to advocate for racial and gender equity within the performing arts.
