‘Mango Street’ Novel Becomes Opera at Glimmerglass

Glimmerglass Festival will present the world premiere of The House on Mango Street, with music by Derek Bermel. He also co-wrote the libretto with Sandra Cisneros, author of the classic coming-of-age novel on which the opera is based. Chía Patiño directs. (July 18 – Aug. 16)
