Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Omar will get its Lyric Opera of Chicago premiere in a production by Kaneza Schaal. Issachah Savage sings the title role in this biographical tale about 19th-century Islamic scholar Omar ibn Said. (Oct. 23-28)
