Opera As Radio At Spoleto USA

Spoleto USA will present Gian Carlo Menotti’s comic one-act opera The Old Maid and the Thief  May 22-29. Originally a 1939 radio broadcast, the work is reimagined as a live radio broadcast—complete with onstage Foley sound effects, object manipulation, and the thrill of storytelling in real time. Directed by Daisy Evans.
