Glimmerglass Explores ‘Lavender Scare’ In Opera

Gregory Spears and Greg Pierce’s acclaimed opera Fellow Travelers, about the “Lavender Scare” in the 1950s, will be presented at Glimmerglass Opera. The story follows two men whose love becomes a dangerous secret in an era of government surveillance and fear. The production is directed by Kevin Newbury and conducted by Kelly Kuo. (July 18-Aug. 16)
