Dallas Recreates 1875 ‘Carmen’

As a salute to the 150th anniversary of Bizet’s Carmen, the Dallas Opera will present a new production of the opera, directed by Romain Gilbert, recreating its inaugural performance in Paris in 1875. The cast includes Marina Viotti (Carmen) and Saimir Pirgu (Don José). Emmanuel Villaume conducts. (Oct. 17-26)
