Toronto: Historical Look at the Castrato Tradition

On July 29, countertenor Franco Fagioli and the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles will present a program called The Last Castrato: Giovanni Battista Velluti at Toronto Summer Music. Conducted by Stefan Plewniak, this concert celebrates Velluti (1780-1861), who inspired works by Rossini, Meyerbeer, and more.
