Pittsburgh’s America250 Program Includes Premiere

For its America250 Festival program on June 19-21, conducted by Manfred Honeck, the Pittsburgh Symphony will premiere a new work by Michael Daugherty. The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will provide choreography to a suite from Copland’s Appalachian Spring, the orchestra will give its first performance of Jessie Montgomery’s Strum, and Augustin Hadelich will be the solist in Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto.
