Phoenix: Music Crafted Amid Chaos

Carlos Izcaray leads the Phoenix Symphony on April 16-18 in three works composed during tumultuous times. Bella Hristova solos in Britten’s Violin Concerto, composed during World War II; Sibelius’ Finlandia reflects the Finnish struggle for independence; Izcaray’s own Geometric Unity was written during the Covid lockdown.
