New York: ACO Marks American Declaration’s 250th

Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, America Composers Orchestra’s Hello America: Letters To Us, From Us focus on artists’ musical open letters to America, which reflect narratives around the summer homes of turn-of-the-century Black folk, rituals of celebration, and the connection between the historic and current patriotism of Black American women. March 11 at Carnegie Hall. Featuring Karen Slack, soprano, in this program of ACO-commissioned works.
