Nina Stemme stars as the Valkyrie Brünnhilde in “Die Walküre,” Part 2 of the Deutsche Oper Ring, now in its third and final week of runs. Norwegian director Stefan Herheim and Scottish conductor Donald Runnicles are in charge of the new Ring Cycle, which debuted in November and on Jan. 9 completes its final festival week featuring all four operas in succession. The production gives the story a contemporary mindset and promises a video release in the spring. Seen here – Andrew Harris as Fasolt, enamored of Freia (Jacquelyn Stucker) in Part 1 of the cycle.
