Palm Beach Opera has come up with an answer to the pandemic. It’s the Florida company’s first outdoor opera festival Feb. 19-27 with semi-staged concerts of La Boheme, Die Zauberflote, and Pagliacci in repertory. The starry casts include Latonia Moore, Isabel Leonard, Ryan Speedo Green, Janai Brugger, Matthew Polenzani, Michael Fabiano, Ana Maria Martinez, Morris Robinson, Quinn Kelsey, and Joshua Hopkins. David Stern conducts La Boheme and Die Zauberflote, and Patrick Summers conducts Pagliacci. James Robinson directs all three operas. Performances are at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, a covered, open-sided venue at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Safety protocols include social distancing, mandatory masks, enhanced sanitization, and a mobile app.
