NYC: Makato Ozone makes NYPhil debut
November 2, 2017
Alan Gilbert, former music director of the New York Philharmonic, conducts a concert of American music Nov. 2–4, part of the NYPhil’s celebration of the Bernstein centenary. The concert marks the orchestra subscription debut of pianist Makoto Ozone (pictured), who will play in Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2, The Age of Anxiety, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The Gershwin, as well as Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs, will also feature principal clarinet Anthony McGill.
