Music Explores Washington State Habitat

The 2025 composition The Elwha River was commissioned by the Seattle Symphony, and the orchestra will revisit it April 2. Composer Annea Lockwood and flutist Claire Chase immersed themselves in the history of the Elwha River habitat in Washington State to create an acousto-electric musical portrait of a resilient ecosystem and a resilient people.
