Boston: Ken David-Masur leads newly staged Peer Gynt
Ken-David Masur leads four performances Oct. 19-24 of a new stage adaptation for Edvard Grieg’s music to Henrik Ibsen’s fantastical folk-play Peer Gynt. Grieg’s music is rarely heard in its original, complete form. Bill Barclay, the director of music at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London and frequent collaborator with the Boston Symphony, has devised sets and costumes for a cast of actors plus soprano Camilla Tilling and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.
